My Aha moment occurred several months after graduating from college. I had landed a job that stuck me in a tiny cubicle, far from any sort of natural lighting, directly across the hall from the employee break room where cookies, donuts, and bagels could always be found. I soon found my posture deteriorating, early stages of arthritis were creeping into my wrists, headaches were a weekly occurrence, and I had gained at least 10 pounds.
It was after a friend suggested I read Kimberly Snyder’s book, The Beauty Detox Solution, that I started making green smoothies for breakfast and finally put the pieces together between eating well and feeling well. Aha! Making that one simple change – adding a mega dose of greens into my diet – resulted in an immediate improvement in my mood and energy levels.
Once I realized that I could very simply control how well my body felt and functioned by improving the quality of what I ate, I started looking for other ways to feel better on a daily basis. Upping my fitness game was the obvious next step. And now here I am, the healthiest and fittest I’ve ever been (still not perfect by any means!), looking to try as many new fitness trends and health foods as I possibly can, and hoping to inspire and help others do the same!
