So yeah, we’re pretty excited to be running Ragnar Los Coyotes with Wonder Woman! Check out some behind-the-scenes for how this trail running mama makes the magic happen:

When and how did you fall in love with trail running?

In 2003 in Vermont on the Kingdom Trails.

What’s your favorite trail you’ve run?

That’s a tough choice! I love a lot of the local trails near me in New Hampshire. My current favorite is the Moose Mountain South Trail on the Appalachian Trail.

What are your race day preparation rituals?

On race day I always wake up, eat my favorite breakfast of two Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs with some berries. I put on my race day outfit which I laid out the night before. At the race course, I always do a dynamic warm-up and then spend some time visualizing my race by myself. Right before the race starts I always have to tie and retie my shoes twice just to make sure that they are tied just right and then it’s go time!

How do you stay motivated to keep running?

I stay motivated by choosing a goal to work towards. Once I have my goal I am able to stay motivated by setting weekly mini goals. I also like to work with a coach when I have a big goal to help me to stay on track with my training.

How do you recover after a long run?

I like to recover from a long run with a protein-packed meal and I love Skratch Labs Recovery Mix. I love to take a nice hot shower which is sometimes prefaced with an ice bath.

What’s one of your best running moments?

My best running moment was qualifying for the 2013 Boston Marathon in 2012 at a tiny little race called Ultra Around the Lake which had a Marathon option. This was my second try at qualifying over a two month time period and the race started at night. I ran my heart out, ran even splits and ran a qualifying time of 3:33. It was a small race so there were no big celebrations but for me, it was a huge moment!
