Meet the Sweat Pink Ragnar Team: Kristina

“Living my best life one mile at a time.”

Words to live by, and I think it’s safe to say that our Sweat Pink Ragnar teammates definitely live that to the fullest. Our next teammate definitely lives up to the motto that’s on her Instagram profile by running some seriously gorgeous trails. Say “hello” to Kristina from @ocrunningmama!

This trailrunner lives that SoCal life:

She loves to sip on some rosé at the end of a run!

And she crewed for fellow Ragnar teammate Sean during the Tahoe 200 Mile Endurance Run!

Let’s find out a little bit more about Kristina’s love of running!

When and how did you fall in love with trail running?

I fell in love with trail running back in 2016 when I ran my first 50k. Old West 50k at Anza Borrego Desert State Park. I couldn’t believe what I was missing and was hooked ever since.

What’s your favorite trail you’ve run?

I would have to say when I ran thru Bryce Canyon, Utah. I also love the trails up at Mt. Baldy, CA.

What are your race day preparation rituals?

I always make sure I have everything ready the night before. My outfit and nutrition. I like to get up early enough so I am not feeling rushed and can take my time to get to the start line and calm my nerves.

How do you stay motivated to keep running?

I remind myself how running is a gift. And that I am lucky to be able to do so. I never want to take that for granted. I also only run 3x a week to prevent burnout or having it feel like a “job.”

How do you recover after a long run?

I always take time off to recover. Depends. Could be 2-3 weeks of no running. I also like to take epsom salt baths, stretch and make sure I am eating right. I also make sure I continue to cross train.

What’s one of your “best” or funniest running fail moments?

Ok so this may or not be funny. But my good friend Kat and I were on the Ski Hut Trail on Mt. Baldy. And well on our way back down we kinda got lost…..ok we got lost. But thankfully she had “breadcrumbs” feature on her watch and it led us back onto the trail…..mind you we were on a time crunch to pick up the kids from school. Oops!
