Grateful. Thankful. Blessed.
It is crazy to think that 2 months ago, I started my blog as a place where I could document all of the wonderful new experiences I was having since beginning of what I thought was a “health” journey. I swam, biked and ran through my first triathlon and was so inspired by the amazing athletes who were out there with me. I didn’t talk to many people as we raced (because obviously I was sucking wind) so I didn’t get to know anyone, but I do vividly remember everyone. I remember their bodies: they came in different sizes, shapes and weight. Bodies that had been through a courageous battle and came back slightly altered but still beautiful and perhaps stronger. Bodies that were on a transformation journey. Bodies that were alive and working. And it was at that moment that I realized how grateful I was to be in such amazing company. How thankful I was to have decided to participate in that triathlon. How blessed I was for my own body.
Every day that I have worked out in a new class, cooked a new meal and written in the blog has made more even more aware of just how lucky I am, regardless of the challenges my body and I face. This isn’t just a health journey now. It is my path to be grateful and thankful for what my life has given me and even if things change along my path, to remember that I am blessed. I’m so excited to be a part of the #sweatpink community and continue honoring my body and my life!
