We don’t need a horoscope to tell us that November is going to be a VERY busy month. The holidays are approaching and that means deadlines: gifts, recipes, work projects, and the list goes on. On top of all of that, the hope is that we can find a balance amongst the madness and make sure we eat well and get our sweat on. It may seem overambitious to maintain our regular routine when life gets so busy, but you really don’t have to compromise the things that make you feel good (and sane) in the busiest season of the year.
I’m a believer in setting smaller goals during this busy season. These goals include sweating, healthy eating, and maintaining a positive mindset. I try to keep the goals small so they feel attainable and not discouraging or hard to meet to ensure I can enjoy the month amongst the madness.
Set small goals.
Knowing this month is going to be busy might mean you are not setting bigger goals like getting back into shape or training for your longest run, but it doesn’t mean you can’t work towards those goals. Stay on track with your health this month with smaller goals that will add up and make a big difference.
- Start each day with a positive mindset. Wake up and tell yourself, today is going to be a good day; or, today, I’m going to kick butt at everything I do; or, I will do at least one thing that makes ME feel good today.
- Plan to walk/run on your lunch break at least 3 times a week.
- Bring healthy snacks and lunch to work every single day.
- Put it in writing. Physically write down your goals in your planner. Writing down your action plan will make you feel more accountable and more likely to stick with it.
Workout when you can, wherever you can.
You don’t need to workout for an hour for it to feel effective. And this month, it might be hard to get into the gym or studio every day that you want to. And that’s okay.
You may have tested or seen us using the new Gixo app – live classes every 30 minutes that you can do anywhere. The coaches are there pushing you so hard the whole time and you can work out with friends near and far. The workouts range from 15 – 40 minutes and we get our butts kicked every single time, making it the perfect sweat session to fit into our busy routines.
We really want to push you to get those sweat sessions in every day. If you achieve the most minutes in our community this month, you’ll win big (AfterShokz headphones, Sweat Pink swag, and $150)! So get on the app, pick your workouts for the week (and month) and get a sweat session in every day whether you’re at home, work, outside, at the gym or even on vacation.
As we lead up to the holidays and we’re strapped for time, it’s easy to let go of our normal routine of meal prepping healthy meals. Here’s where planning has to come in. Pick one day a week to meal plan and prep and again write it down in your calendar so you stick to it. Your body and mind will thank you for being prepared with healthy meals whenever the hunger strikes.
And to give you a head start, here are two of our favorite healthy meals that use Eggland’s Best Eggs, which have more than double the Vitamin B12 and Omega 3’s than regular eggs. They’re also a great source of Vitamins B2 and B5, making them the perfect go-to snack or meal to keep you feeling full and healthy during a stressful holiday season.
Buddha Bowls are always IN. Grab the recipe for Beth’s scrumptious creation here.

Fall is my absolute favorite season. I love the crisp air. I love the changing leaves. I love sweaters. And, I love all of the veggies that come into season. Those veggies were the inspiration for my Roasted Fall Vegetable Buddha Bowl. I promise, it's quick and simple to make (I don't have time for complicated!), and it's nutritious and yummy, too.
