Tomorrow is the day! We’re doing the Gixo 5K / 10K. If you haven’t signed up yet, you still can (it’s free!). There are all sorts of local events happening, in Portland, Austin, Minneapolis, Tipp City OH, and Delray Beach FL and of course the beauty of Gixo is that you’re never alone, even if you’re racing solo.
In preparation for race day, we put together a checklist that will help you prep for and rock tomorrow’s race.
Ready, set, go!
1. Drink up.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! We’re priming our bodies with fizzique sparkling protein water.
2. Eat normally.
Tonight is not the night to try some funky new cuisine. Eat something tried and true, that you know will keep your stomach mellow and happy.
3. Charge your phone and headphones.
You’ll want a full battery on your phone as well as your bluetooth headphones.
4. Spend some quality time with your foam roller.
Roll, roll, roll it out. If you’re looking for techniques or getting started tips, we love Trigger Point’s Youtube channel for all things foam rolling.
5. Review your course.
Make sure you know where you’re going, whether that’s your own route for the virtual event, or directions to the meeting point for one of the in-person events.
6. Create a flat runner.
Lay out your clothes and take a flat runner picture. (Here’s some inspo). Share it on IG, tagging #gixo5k #gixo10K #sweatpink @gixofit
7. Set your alarm
Nothing worse than forgetting to set your alarm, and sleeping through the race!
8. Chill out.
Make it a relaxing night—read, watch tv, snuggle your dog, whatever—and get to bed nice and early. The partying can wait for tomorrow!
What else do you do the night before a race? Share with us—and we can’t wait to race alongside you tomorrow!
