I was really excited about a stress free, unplanned weekend full of movies, TV, and sleep…oh, and of course headstands, handstands and forearm stands..oh my! And while I made all of that happen, I also managed to wear myself out. In true Jamie fashion, I packed in a little relaxation with a whole lot of action.
While I did manage to sleep in on Saturday, almost as soon as I was out of bed I was at the gym working out with a friend. Since it wasn’t my usual workout buddy, I went a little crazier that I normally would given I was already sore when I arrived at the gym. I started off with an interval, hill sprint workout on the dreadmill and then we hit the weight room. After the gym I decided to do a few errands…in the rain…as I was walking down the street getting totally drenched, I kept thinking isn’t rain my excuse for watching lots of TV?!?!? While my plan was to hit up the post office, I didn’t quite make it that far and ended up buying some new goodies for my apartment instead. #compulsiveshopping. #oops. Later that night we made it out to see the Hunger Games…which was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I cannot wait for the second movie to come out…after the movie (and a few glasses of vino), the boyfriend and I got in a little bit of a push-up competition. Embarrassing but true. Let’s just say I did too many and my arms are still really sore.
Sunday we got up and went on a long run. It turned out to be a totally gorgeous day.
Seriously, a perfect day…
And since I had my inversions workout later in the day, the boyfriend and I stopped to do a few arm balances on the trail. He went with handstands (of course) and I went with a forearm stand. And yeah, I’m pretty proud.
After the run, I had to rush and get myself out the door for my two hour inversions workshop (more on that tomorrow) … followed by the Mad Men premiere. And the result, a great weekend…. (totally tired today).
