The Trendiest Workouts

We’re still on a high – or maybe some of us are enjoying a little R&R – from BlogFest last weekend. When we weren’t hearing from the inspirational Todd Durkin or learning ways to improve our blogs, we were walking the IDEAWorld Expo, taking classes, and seeing what’s trending for 2017-2018. We scoped it out and 90s fitness is back… only better.

Combine 90s cardio, choreography, and high-energy music with a little 21st century HIIT and strength training, and you’ve got the workouts of the YEAR. With heart-pumping music and choreographed dance-like routines, these workouts will get you moving, grooving, and experiencing a high caloric burn for hours after the session has ended.

HIGH Fitness is bringing aerobics back. Seriously – it’s their tagline. This fun fitness class wants to let you know it’s more than dance. HIGH Fitness incorporates aerobic interval training with music you love and intense yet easy-to-follow choreography. Not only were these women bouncing with energy at the end of a long expo day, but they flashed their bright smiles and seriously toned arms as they expertly hit every move. Find a class near you.

Les Mills is reinventing step. (And we would know since our Fit Approach booth was right next to the brand!) BODYSTEP is a full-body cardio workout that helps tone your butt and thighs. The enthusiastic BODYSTEP instructor and fun music drew us away every hour as they demoed their new equipment, booty-shaking dance moves, and bodyweight exercises. The class is available as either a 55, 45 or 30-minute workout. Check it out on-demand.

No, STRONG by Zumba is not a dance class – but this revolutionary high-intensity workout makes sure every squat, lunge, and bodyweight exercise is perfectly synced to the music. Several of our BlogFest attendees got certified to teach STRONG and raved about the class. SELF Magazine also gave it a two-thumbs up: “Did I burpee when the bass dropped? Yes, and it was freaking awesome.” Take a class near you.

In between HIITing up these trendy workouts, we made sure to get our own sweat on – HIIT & Flow Style. If you want to bring an easy-to-follow, metabolism-boosting HIIT workout home, try our online HIIT & Flow Membership. Hello, endorphins. You can sign up here.
