As we head into fall, it’s starting to get less sweaty—or at least it *should* be. But up here in Portland it is blazing hot. It’s the first time I think I’ve ever heard anyone wish for late summer rains. So as much as I’d love to bust out my winter run gear, or at least feel like I can do more than step outside before breaking into a crazy sweat, I’m appreciating some new gear I’ve discovered that helps contain the meltdown.
Victory Bands Headbands
I’m not a headband person. I’ve said it over and over again; I just always feel funny in headbands. So, whenever someone suggests I try a new headband, I pause for a long minute and then say HELL NO, because I’m not a headband person. However. Sweat dripping into your eyes is a real problem, so I buckled and tried yet another headband.
Don’t tell anyone that this die-hard no-headbands person may have been converted to a headband. I still can’t really admit it to myself.

Zero K Cooling Wipes
Running to and from the studio and all the other things means I don’t have a chance to shower as often as I’d like (or should). I keep these super portable wipes in my backback, and even in the pocket of my handheld water bottle, for on-the-go touchups. They really are cooling, and a lifesaver in a pinch.
Nature’s Sports Drink
I don’t drink ‘typical’ sports drinks—not my thing—so I look to water to help me feel amazing and replenish. In the heat, it’s even more important to keep yourself hydrated and support your body with electrolytes, and one way I make it happen is with with Gerolsteiner Sparkling Mineral Water. I love the taste so it’s easy to up my intake when I need to, and I love that it’s like regular water… but with super powers!
