Doing so ensures that I’m consistent, strong, fit, and balanced in my life.
But sometimes we need little reminders of just how our fitness efforts and the early morning hours are well worth it.
Enjoy today’s reminder: Food Trucks
One of the pleasures of working in downtown San Francisco is the large variety of tasty lunch options. I’ve got many favorite places where I know I’ll get something nutrious and delicious – and then my weakness came and invaded my safe zone. I love Off The Grid, I love gourmet food, I love friendly people, I love music, and, well, when I see pork belly buns and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes right in front of me I don’t say maybe not – I say definitely yes. The only saving grace was that Off the Grid was not in the easiest location for me to get to, it was wickedly crowded, and it was only on Thursday or Friday nights.
Then Off the Grid came to lunch in downtown San Francisco on Monday and Wednesday. I was strong because it was a ten minute walk away. Until yesterday. Food Truck Alley, a permanent Off the Grid location, has come to downtown and it’s 20 steps from my building. It’s closer than any of my healthy spots. And that’s what makes 6am worth it – it will buy me time running and running hard in the morning until I learn self control when I walk outside my building and see pork belly and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes staring back at me.
