I’ve been doing this fantastic TRX class about twice a week for three weeks now. It’s only been a commitment of about two hours a week, but I can already tell it’s an efficient use of my time. Even though it’s been a boozy couple of weeks, and not much else has changed in my fitness routine–I’m still cranking away at Couch to 5K, and getting to yoga once or twice a week–I can already feel myself firming up in certain places, and notice a difference in how many mountain climbers I can do before I feel like going belly up.
It’s been a powerful reminder that if you start doing something with any degree of consistency, your body will respond to those new demands, and relatively quickly, too. Our bodies are incredible, adaptable machines, and they perk up and pay attention when we start asking them to perform differently.
One thing that’s made it really easy to build this class into my routine is that it feels like a community. Between Rocky, the incredible instructor, and my oh-so-fun classmates, I always see someone there I know, and I always know they’re expecting me to show up.
It’s simple, but powerful stuff.
And my getting-firm abs are my best evidence.
Have you found a place where the community motivates your fitness goals?
